Emsisoft Anti-Malware has a clean, intuitive and user-friendly interface. The main dashboard is easy to navigate and provides a clear overview of the security status of the system. Even those with minimal technical knowledge will find it easy to configure and use. All key functions - malware scanning, quarantine, logs and settings - are just a click away, providing a seamless user experience.
Since the time of our last review, the interface has been slightly modified, the dark mode is present (which we had to activate). It looks much better now. There is also a small window on the left explaining the little things.
Emsisoft Protection and detection rate
At its core, Emsisoft Anti-Malware is incredibly robust... we are surprised!
Even though the two engines used in Emsisoft are excellent, Emsisoft was often a bit problematic and slow during our tests. We are very happy that Emsisoft has finally fixed this. The cloud blocking is very fast and it easily blocked the zero-day malware we ran on our test machine.
Only one Java malware got through the protection, but it is not active at all.
Emsisoft Performance and system impact
A common concern with security solutions is the impact they can have on system performance. Emsisoft Anti-Malware excels in this regard. The software is lightweight, which means it doesn't hog system resources, ensuring your device's performance isn't severely affected. Scans are fast and efficient, with the 'Custom Scans' option allowing you to determine how thorough or time-consuming the process should be. RAM consumption is fairly average, but you can optimize it with the mode on RAM that we tested.

As always, we contacted them as an angry customer who could not find a setting, and their support agents answered our questions with great patience. Their SLA for the support ticket we opened was 3 hours (on a working day) and we contacted them in two languages: English and German.

The pricing of Emsisoft Anti-Malware is fair and similar to the competition.
Their official price for 1 Windows device and 1 year subscription is $39.99, which is similar to Malwarebytes, Avast, Norton etc.
